| Project Updates |
Here is my Fair Isle headband. The grey is more of a dark charcoal. It's still not my favorite, but it's no longer as scary as it once was either. My first project entirely made by me, start to finish! The yarn is my own handspun. The roving is superwash merino in the "Happy Together" colorway from Crown Mountain Farms. I didn't do anything special to get the stripes, it just happened that way, which was pretty cool. I made it to be a "grow-with-me" hat for a friend's baby. It fits my head, although it's a bit short, so it should work just fine for a few years.
This was the first sock of my sock savior socks for Sockapalooza. This sock is now frogged and a new one is started. The pattern wasn't making me happy, so it had to go.
Next up, some more of the "Happy Together" and the progress of "Juan".

| The "Haves" and the "Have-Nots" |
In light of the big fuss of Ravelry, here is my "invite"
You signed up on: Never You are #0 on the list. 0 people are ahead of you in line. Unknown people are behind you in line. 0% of the list has been invited so far
Yup, you got it, I don't have any overwhelming urge to join Ravelry. I'm sure it's lovely, fantastic, and the best thing since sliced bread. But I procrastinate enough on my own without help, and I don't feel the urge to put up every single thing in my stash and every single note I've ever taken on a project. If you find me and ask me what I did about a project, I'll tell you gladly. I'm just not big on all the hoopla with this one yet.
Speaking of procrastination, I have pics of socks, a hat, some Fair Isle (gasp!) and some "Juan" to post. Maybe I should do something about that... |

| Acts of Kindness |
Juan Diego (see last post) is actually alpaca, and he's soft enough that Dianna and I think he might be baby alpaca. I don't care what he is, he's soft and cuddly and he was a gift! and as soon as I get two bobbins cleared off (I've been practicing with keeping my thickness consistent), he'll be meeting my scale.
I'm a sockapalooza 4 sock savior as well. Hi, Tammy! I have some yummy yarn ordered from Woolgirl (2 orders down, 5 to go before Wooly Woolgirl status... mmm...) and I'm just digging for a fantastic pattern. I did Monkeys for my other sockapalooza pal, so I think I need to find something a bit different for this one.
Dianna gifted me Juan, I'm gifting Tammy some socks. "Pay it forward" at work. |
